A delightful graduated blue green necklace crafted from tumbled natural jasper stone and highlighted with sterling silver spacer beads. Finished with sterling silver ends.
What is African turquoise? It’s actually the trade name for a type of jasper that is mined only in Africa. The stone is green blue in colour and is rich with inclusions of crystal quartz, iron and copper deposits in a matrix of black and brown veins, making this stone a beautiful substitute for the much more expensive traditional turquoise.
Because of its inclusions, and with a hardness of 6.5 to 7 on the Mohs scale, African turquoise is a much harder stone than turquoise, which makes it great for jewellery of all types.
