These lovely old tikka pot or tikka boxes are hand carved from single hollowed out pieces of teak, then painted with lacquer. These lidded pots traditionally hold the red tikka vermillion (bindi) powder used for marking the forehead with a red dot or stripe during Hindu ceremonies.
These lovely old pieces make beautiful statement pieces for the home, especially when grouped. They date to the early 1900s, although some are from the 1950-60s..
We have 100 pieces, all individual in their own right. Choose one or choose many. We’ve loosely grouped them into two sizes, small and large. You can send us an email giving us an idea of the pieces you’d like, or you can make a selection online, asking us in the comments for a particular style, colour or shape. We can then send you pictures for your final selection.
